Cream manufacturing plants and ointment manufacturing plants are manufactured from S.S. 316 grade stainless steel sheets and are cGMP compliant construction. The vessels are Jacketed, insulated, cladded and with suitable agitator assembly in each vessel. Wax is melted in Wax melting vessel, Water is heated in water heating vessel. Both wax and water are transferred into the manufacturing vessel automatically through the vacuum. In manufacturing vessel, both wax and water are homogenized to make a uniform emulsion and cooled by passing chilled water into the jacket of manufacturing vessel. After the emulsion is formed active ingredients/colors etc are added and are thoroughly mixed & homogenized. Later necessary perfume is added in case of cosmetics or wherever necessary. Ointment / Cream is ready. The same is transferred by the pump into the storage vessel. & from the storage vessel, it is automatically transferred to the filling machine by means of the metering pump. The flow rate of the metering pump can be set as per your tube filling machines speed and capacity.

Details of each Vessel:

Wax Melting Vessel:
Normally these are cylindrical vessels with either hemispherical or dished bottom vessels with loose type top lids. In some cases, the top is also sealed by dished ends if clients demand the same. The vessel is jacketed with either steam or electric heating as per clients requirements. Propeller type agitator is provided from the top and driven by suitable HP motor as per the vessel capacity. Bottom entry agitator is provided for closed type vessels. Wax is heated in the vessel bet 60 – 80’c as process demands and melted. This melted wax is later transferred into the manufacturing vessel. The vessel has an outlet valve fitted with din fittings for connection of suitable pipeline. A 100 mesh conical filter is provided for filtration of wax of any impurities.

Water Heating Vessel:
Normally these are cylindrical vessels with either hemispherical or dished bottom vessels with loose type top lids. In some cases, the top is also sealed by dished ends if clients demand the same. The vessel is jacketed with either steam or electric heating as per clients requirements. Propeller type agitator is provided from the top and driven by suitable HP motor as per the vessel capacity. Agitator assembly in the manufacturing vessel., Bottom entry Homogeniser & Top Dual speed anchor agitator is provided in the manufacturing vessel. The hydraulic lifting of the top lid is provided in manufacturing vessel for cleaning. Suitable nozzles, manholes, valves etc are provided in all the vessels. The vessel is also provided with the jacket which can be used for both heating and cooling. However in manufacturing vessel mainly cooling is done. Manufacturing vessel can be subjected to full vacuum.

Storage Vessel:
Storage vessel is a simple vessel used to store ointments and creams etc. it is the cylindrical type of vessel with the conical bottom. Bottom valve is provided with din fittings to facilitate the pipeline connection. It is provided with the loose top lid.

Ointment And Cream Manufacturing Plant is designed to handle processes right from transferring of raw material to the delivery of finished products. The plant offers efficient homogenization with heating & cooling with support of accurate temperature control. Central control panel for controlling all the processes of the plant.

Features:
  • ALL waxes and oils are dissolved in the wax phase vessel separately
  • ALL aqueous phase materials are added in the water phase vessel and processed separately
  • Both phase vessels are jacketed and are provided with motor driven propeller type of agitators which facilitate thorough mixing
  • Once the phases are ready, they are transferred to the main Ointment manufacturing vessel by opening respective valves (see schematic drawing). This transfer takes place through fitters and pipelines due to the vacuum created within the main vessel with the aid of a pump.
  • The Ointment Manufacturing vessel is provided with anchor type of stirrer along with Teflon scrapper at the ends, The agitator is driven by dual speed motor. A built-in high speed emulsifier ensures proper emulsification of the ointment, The MIMIC feature in the control panel controls the time of emulsification with the aid of timers.
  • The finished product is transferred to storage vessels by means of the bump pump.
  • Transfer from storage vessel to the filling hoppers is achieved by means of reciprocating metering pumps at the required rate.
  • Special scrappers are provided for transfer of the complete product and to avoid wastage.
  • The system is very useful for creams, Lotions, gets, shampoos, tooth pastes and such preparations.

Toothpaste Manufacturing Plants: consists of the main manufacturing vessel also known as Contra Mixer. Contra Mixer as the name suggests works on the principle of Contra rotation of Blades for simultaneous beating and scraping operation. The mixer is highly versatile and mostly used for manufacturing Tooth Paste, Creams, Cosmetics and other viscous products.

The Mixing Assembly consists of series of paddle type blades of appropriate shape to move the material back towards the center of the container. The paddle type blades are provided on the central shaft which runs through a hollow shaft on which other sets of blades are welded. Both the sets of blades intermesh with each other and rotates in a clockwise and anti-clockwise direction respectively and one sets also scraps the container wall for thorough and uniform mixing of the material.

The mixer is so designed to withstand high vacuum applied during the process for optimum mixing. Contra Mixer is provided with a jacket for cooling or heating as per the application. The vessel shall have a shell of suitable thickness with a hemispherical bottom and flanged top dish made out of S.S. 316 plate. The vessel shall be jacketed with MS jacket ( SS304 jacket provided on extra cost on demand, if required ) of suitable with stiffeners suitable for the steam pressure of 4 to 5 Kg/cm2. The jacket shall be insulated with 50 mm thick glass wool insulation and shall be cladded with 16 SWG M.S. or SS304 material. The vessel shall be suitable for 600 to 700 mm of Hg vacuum and an internal pressure of 3 Kgs / cm2.

The top lid of the Mixer m/c shall be provided with hydraulic lifting and lowering arrangement if required. Hydraulic arrangement will consist of: ( Optional at extra cost )

  • Hard Crome plated HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS ( 2 Nos. )
  • Limit switches at upper and lower limits
  • c. Power pack with direction control valve by actuated

  • All Noncontact parts (general structure) made out of mild steel (SS304 provided on demand, at extra cost) and claded with SS304 or crome plated or made out of SS304 in GMP Model. Contact parts are polished to the mirror finished and noncontact parts are polished to the matt finished in GMP Model. All safety guards & covers made out of SS304 material in GMP model & made out of mild steel & painted in a standard model.
  • General structure & all noncontact parts are made out of Mild Steel & same will be painted in Standard Model.
  • Digital temperature indicator provided to indicate the temperature of the product.

Unique features of the facility:

The liquid oral manufacturing plant is designed to be operated by one operator and one helper, saving on precious manpower costs. Sugar syrup and manufacturing vessels are provided with limpet coils for heating and cooling, designed for an internal vacuum to facilitate the transfer of sugar directly from stores to sugar syrup vessel. Sugar syrup is transferred to manufacturing vessel through online sugar syrup prefilter by vacuum. Entry of all propeller agitators is from the bottom through a specially designed cartridge mechanical seal with TC/TC seal face.

The advantage of the bottom propeller agitator over the conventional agitator is that there are no vibrations of the shaft, no couplings in the drive assembly, leading to lower maintenance cost. Pipes, pipe fittings, and valves are of SS 316, seamless, internally electro-polished with DIN standard unions and Silicon Gaskets.

Manhole of all the vessels is equipped with davit fitting and the cover of the manhole slides instead of being lifted.

Process Control:
Values like current, product temperature are displayed digitally on the electrical control panel. The mechanical seal is equipped with a water circulating system and has a water detection sensor which trips the motor if the water circulation to the seal is interrupted.

Shampoos are typically viscous liquids, either clear or opaque (pearlised), containing 20–40% solids, adjusted to approximately pH 5.5. Most, but not all, have viscosities in the ratio of 500–1500 centipoise. A hair shampoo may be defined as a detergent specifically formulated for the washing of hair, and packaged in a user-convenient form. Typically, a shampoo must clean well, rinse easily, impart gloss to the hair, minimize tangle and not damage the hair structure, or the scalp or the eyes.

Manufacturing Process:
Shampoos are manufactured by simple slow blending in a stirred vessel. The vessel may be jacketed for heating. The shampoo manufacturing plant vessels are normally closed type and subjected to vacuum to avoid excessive foaming when the foaming agent is added. For best results contra type rotating stirrer is best used for shampoo manufacturing.

Ingredients are weighed or metered incrementally into the mixing vessel, with thorough mixing between each addition. A moderate amount of heat is used to reduce the viscosity and so facilitate ease of mixing.
Some pearling agents are waxy solids at ambient temperature and require melting in premixing vessels before use. Demineralised water is most commonly used in order to minimize contamination of the product. No further processing is required after blending, & perfuming and the product may be packed off directly from the mixing vessel. Or may be transferred to storage vessels from where they are transferred to the filling machines.

Many companies make the bases for the shampoos where they do all the premixing of surfactants, sles, other ingredients and sell the same to major industries These industries are mainly called the formulators and in this second level processing will involve only the addition of water, color, and fragrance. In the case of ayurvedic or herbal shampoos, they add their propriety formulae ingredients themselves so that no one knows the exact nature of ingredients and its details.

Vessels required for a Shampoo Plant:

However, for best results contra-rotating or semi contra-rotating agitators are normally preferred by most of the manufacturers for an excellent quality of the shampoo produced. CIP turbo disk is provided at the top of the vessel for cleaning. Suitable nozzles, manholes, valves etc are provided on the vessel. The vessel can also be provided with a jacket which can be used for both heating and cooling if required by the client. Manufacturing vessel can be subjected to full vacuum.

Premixing vessel:
The premixing vessel is cylindrical vessels with dished bottom vessels. Top of the vessel is also dished end welded or can be provided with a loose lid too. Agitator assembly in the premix vessel. Is high-speed cowl/ saw cutter type agitator. In some cases, high speed homogenizer is also provided. CIP turbo disk is provided at the top of the vessel for cleaning. Suitable nozzles, manholes, valves etc are provided on the vessel. The vessel is provided with a jacket for heating. The jacket can be steam heated or electrically heated as per client’s requirement. Suitable insulation and cladding are provided on the jacket. There is no need for any vacuum in this vessel. Normally the capacity of this vessel is 60 % the capacity of the main manufacturing vessel. Premix vessels can be 1 no or 2 nos as per the client's requirements and formulae of the shampoo.
